Kristen Stewart: A Style Icon with Two Perfect Accessories....

Hello!
Although I would love to hate her, I secretly heart Kristen Stewart. She's a pretty good actress, has a cool personality where nothing, and I mean nothing seems to phase her, and she's proven she can pull off a dark black short mullet hairstyle whilst rocking out to the sounds of Joan Jett and still look good.... plus, if she gets to do this everyday......with these two....... then she's pretty darn lucky!! Plus, she happens to be a little bit of a style icon. Not only can she pull off pretty edgy outfits, [black leather skirts with spikes coming out everywhere = fierce!] but since her promotion with the boys kicked off for New Moon earlier this month, Miss Stewart has definitely been wearing many lovely dresses that truly bring to light just how versatile her fashion sense really is. Although she swears that she lives in 'Jeans and T-shirts' and doesn't really 'look at what she wears' this particular attitude towards clothes seems to be on some sort of hiatus for the moment.... and I like it! :-)
Her favourite Jeans are from favourite denim label 'Rock & Republic' but she also mixes and matches these casual ensembles with more high end pieces, wearing Designers such as Herve Leger, House of Lavande, Jason Wu, Valentino, Oscar De La Renta, Elizabeth & James, Yigal Azrouel, Proenza Schouler, Sergio Rossi, J Mendel, and Jimmy Choo. Take a look at how Kristen rocks these dresses in her cool, calm, laid back demeanour - What do you think??

Natalie and Kristen are Interesting Interviews

Two of my favourite Actresses of the moment have made the September and October covers of Interview Magazine. Interview is an off beat magazine that is best known for, well, their interviews... and their cover art... famously showing Disney poster boy and pinup Zac Efron shedding his HSM alter ego by rolling around in the dirt semi naked with a scantily clad model... and nope, the model in question wasn't Vanessa Hudgens!
Efron aside, the September issue of Interview features the smart and beautiful Natalie Portman revealing all to co-star Jake Gyllenhaal about her favourite ice cream, her philanthropic thoughts, and her affection for dirty rap music, a favourite of hers being 'the whisper song' by the Ying Yang twins.
[I’ve mostly been listening to dirty rap lately. That’s sort of my scene. Really, really obscene hip-hop. I love it so much. It makes me laugh and then it makes me want to dance. Those are like my two favorite things, so combined . . . I’ve been listening a lot lately to “Wait (The Whisper Song)” by the Ying Yang Twins, where the lyrics are like, “Wait ’til you see my d—”—which is just amazing because it’s whispered. [whispers] “Wait ’til you see my d— . . . ” [laughs] Crazy. So I just listen to it like I’m a five-year-old, like, “Oh my god! I can’t believe he just said that!”]

Next up is Kristen Stewart, or her alter-ego Bella Swan, responsible for her rise and rise to stratopheric proportions in a little under two years, thanks to The Twilight franchise and Stephenie Meyer. Having completed 'Twilight' and 'New Moon', Stewart is now under the direction of David Slade for the third film 'Eclipse.' Before this, she completed her role in indie film 'The Runaways' as Joan Jett, ditching her red hair in favour of a shorter, darker, mullet styled look, which somehow only she has the power to actually make it look good, demonstrated by her appearance at the VMAs and an onslaught of red carpet appearances. Kristen discusses interviews, the effects of being Bella Swan, Twilight, and reading between the lines when trying to appeal to 11 year olds as well as on a more deeper level. What I like most about her is her attitude, it seems like however many levels of fame and elements of the ridiculous she goes through, she still keeps a level headed, blaze attitude to it all, and that in itself, is something that transcends as adding to her being edgy and cool, although I have a feeling she wouldn't care if you thought she was cool or not. When asked about her upcoming film 'Welcome to the Rileys' where she plays a stripper, she says; "People are going to be like, let's go see Bella Swan strip!"
The interview is very good, and is conducted by Dennis Hooper [the bad-ass from Speed:-)] including a tiny part where Kristen speaks to his six year old daughter, Galen. Its extremely cute!

Twilight Beauty...

Hi everyone! :-)
I just thought I'd let you know what's going on beauty-wise this month! So many of my friends all have different looks, different features, and embrace them in the very best way possible! As a woman of black skin, I have to be very picky indeed when it comes to getting the right kind of make-up to benefit my skin, which can be a little annoying, given that I'm not that picky! I'm the kind of girl who wishes I could pop to my local Boots to grab something quick for my hair and face, but unfortunately that's simply not the case, and I find myself needing more specialist attention, [it's not my fault, it's just my genes!] Even so, brands like Stila and Benefit do absolutely nothing for me - unless it's something really basic like a mascara. My favourite make-up brands are MAC, Iman, and Bobbi Brown - all of their products help make my face look half decent! I know when Iman launched her make-up range some time ago specifically for asian and darker skin tones, it opened up a brand new door for ethnic women everywhere and was a step in the right direction towards helping the fashion and beauty industries shed their old skin of perpetuating just one immaculate standard of what is considered to be universally beautiful. Iman has been such a prominent voice amongst the fashion industry, and continues to be a key role model. [Iman also does a hair care range, which also includes a no-lye relaxer] As well as this, I also like to use Fashion Fair products. I don't experiment very much with make-up, I would love to try a red lipstick or a really dark shade of berry. I love the make-up artists Pat McGrath, Francesca Tolot, and Mary Greenwell, and simply admire all the shoots they do. My dream hair stylists would be Kimberly Kimble, and Serge Normant but in reality, Hype Coiffure in Balham, Kosit Hair and Dionne Smith salons in Peckham are also favourites of mine, although I'm still saving up for a trip to Errol Douglas in Knightsbridge!
Meanwhile, I'd thought I'd share with you this immaculate beauty shoot from US Glamour Magazine, where Twilight actresses Nikki Reed, Rachelle Lefevre, Ashley Greene, and Noot Seer show how to transform and update your look, going from a sultry daytime radiance to a stunning night-time glow! The actresses each have their own strong, significant and striking looks and show what four of many faces of beauty look like.
Brands: CoverGirl, Revlon, Estee Lauder, Dior Beauty, Chanel, Iman, Lancome, Fashion Fair, MAC, Maxfactor, Rimmel, Clarins Paris, Bobbi Brown, Sishedo, Mister Mascara, Calvin Klein
Tell me what you think!
